Adding New Stocks in v2

Adding new stocks is easy and quick.
Start by opening the main app window by doing any of the following:
  • Click on the ticker tape in the menubar
  • Click on the Stock + dock icon
  • Press Ctrl+Shift+S (the default global hotkey for Stock +)
Once the main app window is visible, click on the search bar below the stock list.
(If the main app window didn't appear, skip to the bottom of this article to "Trouble Shooting").
Type in the symbol or company name that you would like to add and then press the "+" button.

If you type in a company name instead of a symbol, or if the app cannot match your search phrase directly to a stock symbol then it might display a suggestion box.

Simply click on the suggestion that represents what you want to add.

Trouble Shooting:

If the above instructions did not work for you then the problem is most likely caused by either A.) The app is not up-to-date or B.) the computer's OS is not up-to-date.
To update the app, simply launch the Mac App Store and click on the Updates Tab.  If an update is available, go ahead and update the app.
To update your computer's OS, click on the  in the top left corner of your screen and then in the drop down menu click on "Software Update".  Install any updates available for your Mac.
